Following the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Aria competition on 19th August 2018, Shakira was awarded the Third Place Prize after performing Rossini’s Fac ut portem from Stabat Mater and Saint-Saëns’ Expectans expectavi from Oratorio de Noël.
Shakira is thrilled to announce that she has accepted a place in the Master of Music (Vocal Performance) course at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama under the impressive tutelage of Yvonne Kenny AM.
Shakira will relocate and begin her studies in September 2018.

Shakira has been announced as this year's Acclaim Award Fellowship winner alongside baritone Raphael Wong (as pictured). This Fellowship enables Shakira to continue her work with esteemed soprano Valeria Esposito in Jesi, Italy in 2018 - 2019.
A newcomer to 7 Sopranos touring, we welcome mezzo soprano Shakira Tsindos to the Brava Concert lineup. Shakira is making her mark around Australia appearing with Victorian Opera, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Opera Australia and we are thrilled to have her take the stage with us this September.
In Opera Australia's Melbourne Autumn season, Shakira will join the Chorus in their production of King Roger by Szymanovski. This marks Shakira's first professional engagement with Opera Australia and the Opera Australia chorus. Performance will take place in the State Theatre, Arts Centre Melbourne. This production is a collaboration with the Royal Opera House/Covent Garden.
