Dvořák - Love Songs Op. 2 | Gypsy Songs Op. 55
Janáček - Moravian Folksongs | The Diary of One who Disappeared
Folk and love songs by two of the most popular Czech composers of the Romantic era are performed by Nicky Spence and Barbara Kozelj with the masterful accompaniment of Temple Music favourite, Julius Drake.
Nicky Spence's "voice of real distinction" (The Daily Telegraph) sees him perform to great acclaim in both recital and opera. His recent performances of Janáček at both The Royal Opera House and La Monnaie reaped rave reviews. Meanwhile Barbara Kozelj's "expressive rounded voice" (Seen and Heard) has seen her rocket to the top of her profession in just six years. Together, joined by Julius Drake, they create the perfect partnership for this concert.
